Terms of service

Last updated 2 August 2026.

In plain terms. $29 a month, no contract, cancel yourself in two clicks and it stops at the end of the period you paid for. Your change orders and approval records are yours and you can export them any time, including after you leave. mossbench records that your client approved something — it does not make that approval legally binding, and it is not a substitute for your contract or a lawyer.

1. What the service is

mossbench lets a contractor create a change order, send it to their client on a link for approval, and — once approved — write the approved line items back into the corresponding job in the contractor's own Jobber account. It also records who approved what, and when.

It is software you use yourself. Nobody at mossbench creates, sends, chases, or negotiates change orders on your behalf.

2. Who can use it

You must have a Jobber account, be authorised to connect it, be at least 18, and be using it for a business. Connecting Jobber is how you sign up; there is no separate password.

3. Price, billing and cancellation

Refunds. If the service did not work as described, ask and you will be refunded — that is not a negotiation. Beyond that, monthly payments already made are not generally refunded, because you can cancel at any time and the maximum exposure is one month.

4. Your data is yours

If mossbench is ever shut down, active customers will be told before it happens, not after; subscriptions will be cancelled rather than renewed into a service that is ending; and there will be time and a means to export everything first.

5. What you agree not to do

Accounts doing these things can be suspended. Where suspension is not urgent, you will be told what the problem is and given a chance to fix it first.

6. Jobber

mossbench is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or a partner of Jobber. It connects through Jobber's official API using access you explicitly approve, and you can revoke that access at any time from inside Jobber. Your relationship with Jobber is governed by their terms, not these. If Jobber changes or withdraws its API, functionality that depends on it may change or stop.

7. The important limitation — please actually read this one

mossbench records evidence that a client approved work. It does not make that approval legally binding, and it is not legal advice.

Whether a change order is enforceable depends on your contract, your jurisdiction, and the circumstances — none of which mossbench evaluates. An approval record is evidence of what happened; it is not a determination that it was sufficient. If a change order matters financially, have your contract reviewed by a lawyer. Do not treat this software as a substitute for one.

8. Availability

The service is provided as-is, with no uptime guarantee and no service-level agreement. It is a small, new product run by one operator with AI automation. It is built carefully and tested continuously, but it is not a system with 24-hour staffed operations, and pretending otherwise would be dishonest.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, mossbench's total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid in the 12 months before the claim. It is not liable for indirect or consequential losses, including lost profits, lost business, or a disputed change order you were unable to recover.

Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Support

Questions go to the contact form and are answered within one business day on a private thread link you are given when you send the message.

Support replies are written by an AI. Asked directly whether you are talking to an AI, the answer will always be yes. If you would rather deal with a person, say so and that will be arranged. If you are a paying customer and something is broken, that goes ahead of everything else.

11. Changes to these terms

If these terms change materially, the date at the top changes and active customers are told directly. Continuing to use the service after that means accepting the change; if you do not accept it, cancel and you will not be charged again.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the operator's state of residence, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

13. Contact

Everything — support, billing, legal, privacy, security reports — goes through the contact form. It reaches someone who can act on it.
