For contractors running Jobber

The scope changed. Now the job total is wrong.

Jobber can’t add work once a quote is approved. So the extra ends up in a text message — and at invoice time, nobody can prove the client agreed to it.

How it works

Three steps, and the third one is the reason this exists.

01

Raise it

Pick the job, say what changed, add the lines and the price. Takes about a minute.

02

They approve it

Your client gets a link showing the work, the reason and the exact added cost. They type their name to accept.

03

Jobber updates itself

The approved lines are written into the job, so the total is right before you invoice — plus a note in Jobber recording who approved what, and when.

Nothing reaches Jobber until they say yes

That ordering is the whole product. You can already edit line items yourself — what you can’t do is prove the client authorised the extra work before it was billed.

Every approval stores the name they typed, the date and time, and the exact line items and prices shown at that moment. If they never respond, nothing is written and nothing is billed. There’s no timer that quietly approves work on their behalf.

What it costs

One price. No per-user fees, no tiers, no setup call.

Cancel yourself from inside the app, any time. You’ll never have to email anyone to stop paying.

Connect Jobber

You are not the only one

These are real reviews of Jobber, left by contractors on Capterra:

“Limited flexibility once a quote is approved… can’t easily be added later without a new quote.” Bruce M. — General Manager, Construction
“No way to create a change order after a quote or job has been changed.” Emma N. — Administrative Manager, Construction

Jobber’s own help centre says the same thing in different words. Its documented answer is to open the job, retype the line items by hand, and “include a detailed internal note specifying the change order.”

A note to yourself is not an approval. That is the gap this fills.

Questions

Do I have to change how I use Jobber?

No. Quote and invoice exactly as you do now. This only covers the bit in the middle, when the work changes.

What access does it need?

Clients, quotes and jobs. Nothing else is requested, and you approve it in Jobber with one click.

Will it change anything on its own?

Never. Nothing is written to your Jobber account until your client has approved it. If they don’t respond, nothing happens.

What if the client says no?

They decline on the same link, nothing is written to the job, and the decline is recorded so you have it either way.

Can I edit a change order after it’s approved?

No — an approval record you can alter afterwards isn’t worth anything in a dispute. Raise a second change order, which is what a paper trail should look like.

Do I need another login?

No. Connecting Jobber is the login. Nothing to set up, nothing emailed.

How do I cancel?

Yourself, from inside the app, in two clicks. No email, no phone call, no notice period. Your change orders stay in Jobber because they were written there.
