Accessibility
Last updated 5 October 2026
This site should be usable by everyone who needs to read it, including people using screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification, or a browser with motion reduced. Our target is WCAG 2.2 level AA.
What is implemented
- Semantic structure. Real headings in order, one first-level heading per page, lists marked up as lists, and definition lists for the identity and certificate data.
- Keyboard access. Everything interactive is reachable and operable by keyboard, and focus is visible: a two-pixel outline with an offset, never removed.
- Forms that explain themselves. Every field has a bound label, hints are part of the label rather than placeholder text, and errors are given in words rather than by colour alone.
- Contrast. Body text is near-black on pale stone, and the palette carries no low-contrast accent colour.
- Reduced motion. The site has almost no motion, and what exists is disabled when your system asks for reduced motion.
- Both reading directions. English and Arabic pages declare their language and direction, and the stylesheet uses logical properties, so right-to-left layout is native rather than a mirrored afterthought.
- Text that scales. Type is set in relative units and reflows to about 400 pixels wide without horizontal scrolling.
- No traps. No autoplaying media, no time limits, no modal that cannot be left, and no third-party widget injecting its own behaviour.
What we have not done
Being straightforward about this matters more than claiming a badge.
- No independent audit. This statement reflects our own assessment. It has not been verified by a third-party accessibility auditor.
- Not tested with every assistive technology. We have not tested against the full range of screen readers and browser combinations.
- Documents are a known future gap. Certificates of analysis are issued as PDFs by the laboratories that produce them, and those files are outside our control and may not be tagged for screen readers. If you need the contents of a certificate in an accessible format, ask us and we will provide it.
Reporting a barrier
If any part of this site is difficult or impossible for you to use, write to [email protected], describing the page and what happened. We will reply, and where the problem is ours we will fix it rather than explain it away. If you need information from this site in another format in the meantime, ask and we will send it.
