The Lot Standard
Version 1 · 5 October 2026
This is the standard we hold our own supply to, written so you can send it to anyone. Print it, attach it to a purchase order, or paste it into an email and ask a supplier to confirm each line in writing. A supplier who will not answer in writing has answered.
-
A certificate specific to the lot supplied
Issued for the lot in the vial delivered, not for the product line. The lot number on the certificate matches the number printed on the vial.
-
The issuing laboratory named, with its accreditation
A laboratory that can be looked up and contacted independently. “Third-party tested” without a name does not satisfy this clause.
-
Purity by a stated chromatographic method
A figure for that lot, with the method named, and the chromatogram available on request.
-
Identity by a stated mass method
Measured mass against expected mass for the compound, with the salt form stated where one applies.
-
Date, traceability and storage
Date of analysis on the certificate, lot numbers recorded against the shipment, and storage and transit conditions documented and available on request.
How to use it
Send these five clauses to a supplier before you order and ask for written confirmation against each one. Then check the certificate you receive with the certificate check, which does the arithmetic the clauses imply.
We publish this because a standard only one supplier meets is marketing. A standard every supplier is asked to meet is a floor.
