Research use only
"Research use only" is not a disclaimer added to the bottom of a page. It is a statement about intended use that determines the regulatory category of the material, and it governs who we can supply and what we can say.
What it means here
- Laboratory research use. Material is supplied for research, method development and analytical work, where institutional policy permits it.
- Not for human or veterinary consumption. Not for administration to people or animals, in any amount, by any route.
- Not for clinical, diagnostic or therapeutic use. These are not drugs and not medical devices, and no regulator has approved them for treating anything.
- No claims. We describe chemistry and what a certificate reports. We do not describe health outcomes, because we are not entitled to.
Who may hold an account
Accounts are opened for organisations that can state a research application and stand behind it: laboratories, biotechnology and contract research organisations, industrial and formulation research, and licensed distributors supplying a named research market. Qualification happens before a quote is issued, not at checkout, and account holders attest to their application and to the prohibited-use terms.
Local law governs the account
Where a market requires product registration, import licensing or professional credentials, those obligations sit with the account holder, and verifying them sits with us. An account in a regulated market is approved against that market’s requirements, and supply that cannot meet them is declined.
